Kintsugi started in April 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Japanese Zen philosophy, the name ‘Kintsugi’ literally means ‘to join with gold’. It is said that the broken pieces of an accidentally-smashed pot should be carefully reassembled and then glued together with gold powder. There should be no attempt to disguise the damage, the point is to render the fault-lines beautiful and strong. The precious veins of gold are there to emphasise that breaks have a philosophically-rich merit all of their own.  This image and process symbolises the situation that the world currently finds itself in. A lot has been broken. These breaks need to be recognised and mended with care and diligence. Now more than ever, people and businesses (both small and large) deserve high-quality and honest legal solutions and support.

After 10 years of global, in-house legal work for multinational firms and organisations, I’ve decided to go ‘back to the basics’ to provide client-focused support to individuals, corporates and trusts at reasonable, fixed prices. I have experience in and knowledge of a variety of jurisdictions and laws and am well-placed to provide sound legal solutions and support to domestic and international clients.

I’m a qualified South African lawyer with over ten years’ professional international experience.  I’ve worked in a number of very challenging legal roles at respected multinational consulting, financial services and technology companies spanning a number of diverse markets. Most recently, I was the General Legal Counsel at a UK headquartered global financial technology company which operates in over 130 countries.
